McFarland Police arrest man for Sunday shooting

McFarland Police have arrested Michael Gonzalez, 23, of McFarland on several charges including attempted murder after a shooting Sunday night that left one man injured from a gunshot wound. 

According to police, Gonzalez ran into a residence on the 1000 block of 3rd street and retrieved a firearm from inside. 

Gonzalez and the other suspect(s) exchanged multiple rounds between each other outside of the residence. 

Gonzalez then got into a vehicle and chased after the other suspect(s).

Officials said detectives recovered a loaded firearm inside the vehicle Gonzalez was driving which was used by Gonzalez during the incident on Sunday.

Police arrested Gonzalez for attempted murder, possession of a concealed weapon in a vehicle, having an unregistered firearm with ammunition, a high capacity magazine, shooting at a vehicle,  and possession of a firearm. Gonzalez was booked into the Central Receiving Facility on Monday. 

Detectives believe this shooting is gang related but have been unable to identify the other suspect(s) involved. Anyone with any information is urged to contact Detective Wilson at 661-792-2121.
