Detectives have arrested a man who they say is responsible for the death of woman in Bear Valley Springs.

At about 7:50 a.m. Thursday, the Bear Valley Springs Police Department received a cellular 911 call from a home in the 26000 block of Bear Valley Road.

They said they found 55-year-old Jacque Murillo suffering from several stab wounds.

They said they saw 54-year-old Thomas Dorsey leaving the home on foot.

Medical aid arrived and rendered aid to Murillo.

Murillo was taken to Tehachapi Hospital where she died.

Dorsey was located in the hills behind the home after a search by responding officers from the Bear Valley Springs and Stallion Springs Police Departments along with deputies from the Kern County Sheriff's Office.

Dorsey was detained without further incident.

Kern County Sheriff's Office homicide detectives responded and assumed the investigation.

Detectives were able to determine Dorsey and Murillo had been dating for approximately two months and were in the process of separating.

Murillo had recently obtained a Domestic Violence Restraining Order against Dorsey, which had not been served yet.

Detectives were able to develop probable cause to arrest Dorsey for the death of Murillo.

Dorsey was booked into the Kern County Sheriff's Office Central Receiving Facility for one count of murder.  An autopsy is scheduled for October 9th, 2015 to determine the cause of death for Murillo.
