Amanda joined the 23 ABC team as weekend anchor and reporter in February 2013.
Amanda began her journalism career 2 1/2 years ago at News Channel 25 in Waco, Texas. She was hired as the weekend reporter and was later promoted to morning and midday anchor.
Even though Amanda is an Arizona Native she considers California her second home and jumped at the chance to work in the Golden State.
She graduated with a degree in Broadcast Journalism from the University of La Verne in Southern California in 2010.
During her junior and senior year of college Amanda was honored to be selected to intern at ABC Network News, KABC-TV in Los Angeles and Good Morning America.
Amanda grew up in Arizona and her family still resides there. It was in Arizona that she found her other passion, horses and the western lifestyle. Her love of the equestrian lifestyle began at age four when she begged her parents to let her take riding lessons.
Volunteerism and giving back to her community has also always been a big part of Amanda's life. She has been able to use her love of horses to serve others as a member of Cowgirls Historical Foundation whose mission is to preserve Western Heritage through volunteerism.
Amanda looks forward to getting involved in community events in Kern County and will also look for opportunities to get back in the saddle.
