Mothers often find they have to put the needs of their family ahead of their own wants.

But the editors of Kelley Blue Book wondered why mom should have to choose, whether it's Mother's Day or any other day of the year.

With that in mind, they recently announced their "10 Great Mom Cars," picking five pairs of cars, one "functional" and one "fun."

"We know that moms have a tough decision when it comes to car shopping, because they have to consider not just their own needs and wants, but what is practical and best for their family," said Jack R. Nerad, executive editorial director and executive market analyst for Kelley Blue Book. "We considered both sides of the debate and decided that mom shouldn't have to settle."

The list of functional "soccer-mobiles," as Kelley Blue Book calls them, includes the 2009 models of the Audi A6 Avant, the Buick Enclave, the Cadillac Escalade, the Honda Odyssey, and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid.

The top five "fun mom cars" features the Audi TT, the BMW 335d, the Jaguar XK, the Mazda MX-5 Miata, and the Mercedes-Benz SL.
