Oklahoma's mail-in appliance rebate program has closed.

The program, which was designed to encourage residents to replace inefficient appliances with newer models, began May 8 and was closed on May 26 when all the funding was claimed.

The appliances and rebate levels were as follows:
  • Clothes washers - $200
  • Refrigerators - $200
  • Room air conditioners - $50
  • Water heaters - $100
  • Central air conditioners - $100
  • Gas furnaces - $100
  • Ground source heat pumps - $250

The program was one of 56 State Energy-Efficient Appliance Rebate Programs, popularly known as Cash for Appliances, that were set up in the United States and six U.S. territories with the help of federal stimulus money.

Oklahoma received about $3.5 million of the nearly $300 million in stimulus funding available nationwide from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
