Hit-And-Run Ends With 2 Dead, 2 Injured

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Two men are dead after their vehicle slammed into a concrete barrier following a hit-and-run accident.Around 2 a.m. Friday, the Bakersfield Police Department arrived upon a vehicle accident in the 2400 block of Union Avenue Loop.The BPD said that the driver, Oscar Perez, 29, and occupants were involved in a hit-and-run accident at the parking lot of the La Movida Night Club at 212 E. 19th St.
Rosa Duque, 35, was hit by the vehicle and Perez sped off towards Union Avenue, the BPD said.The BPD said that these men were fleeing the scene when Perez lost control of the vehicle and slid into a concrete barrier and chain link fence surrounding a nearby canal.Perez died at the scene, but his passenger, Jorge Villalvazo, 20, was taken to Kern Medical Center where he died as a result of his injuries, the BPD reported.The other passenger sustained moderate injuries but was listed in stable condition.Duque was taken to Memorial Hospital with minor injuries.The BPD is investigating to see if alcohol was a factor in either of the collisions.Anyone who may have witnessed the collisions or have information regarding either collision is urged to call the BPD at 661-327-7111.
