Bakersfield police are investigating a reported robbery involving two men dressed in security guard uniforms.

A female reported that on Oct. 23 around 11:15 p.m., she was in the south parking lot of the Marriott hotel at 801 Truxtun Avenue when she was confronted by two men who were dressed as security guards, police reported.

Police said that one of the men displayed a firearm and demanded the woman's purse.

The woman turned over the purse and the men fled, police said.

Police reported that the men had been standing near a red pickup truck prior to the offense; however it is not known whether the men are connected to that vehicle.

The first man was described as black, clean-shaven with brown hair. He was last seen dressed in a black security guard windbreaker, black cargo pants, black boots, and a black baseball cap with a white symbol on the front. Police said that the man was armed with a black firearm.

The second man was described as Hispanic and clean-shaven with brown wavy hair. He was last seen dressed in a black security guard windbreaker, black cargo pants, black boots, and black baseball cap with a white symbol on the front.

Anyone with any information related to this crime, or the men involved in this crime, is encouraged to call contact Detective Clayton Madden at 326-3953.
