Police Investigating Homicide in Central Bakersfield Apartment
Man Died From Apparent Traumatic Injuries Sunday Afternoon

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A man was found unresponsive in his central Bakersfield apartment complex Sunday afternoon, now the Bakersfield Police Department is investigating his death as a homicide.Officers were called to the Emerald Glen Apartments at 3 p.m. Sunday, where 19-year-old Joseph Foster was found unresponsive and was later pronounced dead.The BPD has very little other information as the investigation is continuing, but did say he suffered trauma and that the apartment appeared to be ransacked.
Neighbors living below the man's apartment told ABC 23 they heard nothing out of the ordinary, just what sounded like something being dropped on the ground.They say Foster lived with his girlfriend and niece and was friendly.Deputies said Foster was found bleeding from the head.Anyone with information is asked to contact the BPD at 327-7111 or the Secret Witness Hotline at 322-4040.The Emerald Glen Apartments have a history of violence. In February 2009, Joshua Turner was shot and killed there. In Nov. 2008, David Camberos, 19, was murdered there. And in Feb. 2006, Perry Robinson, 14, was shot and killed just outside the apartment's fencing.
