BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The man accused of killing 2-year-old Guillermo Alvarez last week appeared in court for the first time Monday.Monday’s scheduled arraignment for Joshua Preston was postponed for a week, while a public defender is assigned to him.Preston is accused of beating Alvarez to death after Alvarez’s mother left him in Preston’s care.
Preston’s bail is set at $1 million.
