Gang Deputies Arrest Stabbing Suspect

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A man has been arrested after deputies said he walked up to another man and stabbed him in the leg and torso.On Oct. 11, around 2:56 p.m., Mohamed Ali, 29, told Kern County Sheriff Deputies that he was stopped in his car at the stop light at the intersection of Mt. Vernon Avenue and Niles Street, when an known Hispanic man got out of another stopped car and approached Ali, the KCSD reported.According to the KCSD, the man then yelled at Ali and then stabbed him in the leg and torso.
The man then got back in his car and fled the area, according to the KCSD.Ali received moderate injuries.Sheriff’s Gang investigators were able to develop information in the case that lead to the identification of, Jonathan Garcia, 19, as the suspect in the stabbing.Gang investigators said they located and arrested Garcia Thursday night on charges of attempted homicide and participation in a criminal street gang.
