A man was found hiding on a middle school campus after deputies said he was involved in a robbery.

Around 11:23 p.m. Friday, Kern County sheriff deputies said that Roberto Olavarria, 47, was approached in the 3000 block of Horace Mann Court by four unknown young men.

Deputies said that one of the men, later identified as Patrick Holley, 20, brandished a gun and pistol whipped Olavarria, stole his necklace and a portable DVD player.

That's when deputies said Holley, along with the three other men, fled the area but were spotted a short distance away by gang deputies.

Holley, along with the other men, ran from deputies.

Deputies searched the area and a sheriff’s K-9 team located Holley hiding nearby inside the school grounds of Sierra middle school, according to deputies.

Holley was arrested and Olavarria’s stolen property was recovered, deputies said.

Holley was booked into the Kern County Jail on charges of robbery, assault with a firearm, resisting arrest, participation in criminal street gang and committing a felony on behalf of a street gang.

Further investigation lead Gang deputies to the residence at 701 Tate Street where gang deputies located men matching the description of the other three suspects hiding inside the house.

They were identified as Roman Warner, 20, Jimmy Pollard, 19, and a 17-year-old runaway.

Pollard was arrested on charges of parole violation and Warner was arrested on charges of possession of a controlled substance.

The 17-year-old was released to his to family members.
