Nighttime Lane Closures On State Route 178 At Oswell Street

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Security Paving Company, the contractor for the State Route (SR) 178/Fairfax Road Interchange project, plans to replace a bridge-mounted sign on the Oswell Street overcrossing on October 28 and 29, 2009. The work will require lane closures on SR 178 eastbound near Oswell Street, between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m., both nights. Freeway traffic will be reduced to one lane while this work is performed.The eastbound SR 178 loop on-ramp at Oswell Street will also be closed, but the remaining interchange ramps and overcrossing will remain open. No delays are anticipated.Motorists should remain alert to changing traffic conditions and watch for construction equipment and personnel while traveling through the area.
