The Bakersfield Police Department is asking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect wanted in connection with an identity theft.

On Oct. 6, a man realized that unknown suspects used his personal information to activate a credit card account in his name and subsequently charged over $10,000 in merchandise between Aug. 28 and Sept. 8, Detective Mary DeGeare said.

Investigation revealed that on Aug. 28, the man seen in photos used the credit card to make two purchases at Albertsons, 1520 Brundage Lane, DeGeare said.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the suspect is encouraged to call Detective Watts at 326-3504.
