Woman Threatens Security After Allegedly Stealing Items From Store

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- The Bakersfield Police Department is requesting the community's assistance in identifying a woman accused of shoplifting and robbery from a sports store.On Tuesday, police said a woman who was seen in surveillance photos was observed by security at Touchdown Sports, 3000 Mall View Road, selecting several items of clothing, removing the security sensors and placing them in her purse.According to security, she neglected to remove all of the sensors because when she exited the store, the alarm activated.
When she was confronted by store personnel, she told them, "I have a gun, so get back," police said.The woman left in a white 1999 Chevy S10 pickup with gray primer on the passenger side.She is described as black in her 40s, about 5 feet tall and weighing 100 pounds with long, black hair.The driver of the truck was described a black female between 50 and 60 years old.Anyone with information regarding the identity of this woman is encouraged to call the Bakersfield Police Department at 327-7111.
