Police Searching For Man Accused Of Annoying Child

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- On Saturday around 8:10 p.m., Bakersfield police received a report of an annoying a juvenile incident which occurred in the 2400 block of Columbus Street.A 16-year-old female reported that she was followed and contacted several times by an unknown man in a vehicle as she was walking west in the 2400 block of Columbus Street.Police said the man, on several occasions, drove up to her and asked if she needed a ride and offered her money.
At one point, police said the man exited his vehicle and approached her on foot, but the teen ran away and the man fled.The teen returned home and reported the incident to a parent, Sgt. Greg Terry said.The man is described as white in his 50s. He is said to be 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 200 pounds. He is said to have gray hair, and was last seen wearing a dark colored shirt and unknown color pants.His vehicle was described as a newer, small, unknown make/model SUV, silver in color.The investigation is continuing.Anyone with information is asked to call Bakersfield police at 661-327-7111.
