BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- A woman had to be rescued Sunday morning after she fell while hiking more than 100 feet down the Panorama Bluffs. The Bakersfield Fire Department said it received a call just after 11 a.m. that a woman had fallen.Crews had to set up a rescue rig to pull the woman up the steep hill.
This is the second rescue they've had to do in the past two weeks on the bluffs and now officials want to remind people the dangers of hiking in the area.Related Woman Falls 200 Feet Off Bluffs Walking Dog Battalion Chief Gary Turner said, "It is very steep and there are some paths. We encourage those to use the proper equipment. If you have a walking stick please bring that, and also the proper foot wear. Even though these paths look like they are well worn, they are very slippery."The woman suffered a fractured lower leg.
