Woman Falls Off Bluffs, Fractures Leg

POSTED: 11:26 am PDT March 15, 2010
UPDATED: 11:50 am PDT March 15, 2010

A woman had to be rescued Sunday morning after she fell while hiking more than 100 feet down the Panorama Bluffs.

The Bakersfield Fire Department said it received a call just after 11 a.m. that a woman had fallen.

Crews had to set up a rescue rig to pull the woman up the steep hill.

This is the second rescue they've had to do in the past two weeks on the bluffs and now officials want to remind people the dangers of hiking in the area.

The woman suffered a fractured lower leg.
