23ABC calls on you to boycott the Bakersfield Condors. The management of our local hockey team has been promoting tonight's game as Guaranteed Fight Night.

The Condors were actually guaranteeing a fight would break out tonight. And if, Heaven forbid, there is no bloodshed tonight, every fan there would get a free ticket to the next game, to apparently make up for the lack of violence.

This dumb idea was underway until the league got wind of it and forced the Condors to shut it down.

23ABC has a message for the Condors: Shame on you for even thinking about inciting violence in a city gripped by senseless bloodshed. This idea was beyond stupid. We think it borders on criminal.

What message did you send by guaranteeing a fight would break out?

Bakersfield should be proud of the Condors. Instead, we're ashamed. So call on everyone in the city to boycott the Condors until they publicly apologize for this ridiculous and dangerous stunt.

23ABC also calls on Bakersfield Police to be on hand for tonight's game. If a fight does break out, cops need to arrest Condors general manager Matt Riley for inciting violence in the first place. Maybe a few days on ice will teach him a lesson.
