Actress Salma Hayek is a new mom.

Hayek and her fiance, businessman Francois-Henri Pinault, became parents of a new baby girl, Valentina Paloma Pinault, on Friday.

"Mother and child are doing well," Hayek's publicist Cari Ross said in a statement.

No other details were released.

The Mexico-born Hayek, 41, has starred in films such as "Desperado," "Dogma," "Spy Kids 3-D: Game Over" and "After the Sunset."

She received a Best Actress Oscar nomination in 2003 for playing the title role in "Frida," a biopic about artist Frida Kahlo.

Hayek also has a role in the new musical "Across the Universe," directed by "Frida" filmmaker Julie Taymor.

Hayek is also one of the executive producers of ABC's "Ugly Betty" and the chief executive of Ventanazul, a production company she formed with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc.

Pinault, 45, is the chief executive officer of the luxury goods company PPR SA, which owns high-end labels such as Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga and Puma.
