'Old Men,' 'Michael Clayton' Among Top AFI Films

List Also Includes 'Knocked Up,' 'Ratatouille'

    POSTED: 7:50 am PST December 17, 2007

There's no atonement coming from the American Film Institute for its annual list of 10 best films.

The Golden Globe nomination leader "Atonement" did not make the cut, which includes the Coen brothers' crime thriller "No Country For Old Men, the oil-boom drama "There Will Be Blood," the legal thriller "Michael Clayton" and the bawdy comedy "Knocked Up."

Films on the AFI list are not ranked, but released in alphabetical order. Also making the cut this year are "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead," "The Diving Bell and the Butterfly," "Into the Wild," "Juno," "Ratatouille" and "The Savages."

The organization also picked the top 10 television programs of the year. Those are "Dexter," "Everybody Hates Chris," "Friday Night Lights," "Longford," "Mad Men," "Pushing Daisies," "The Sopranos," "30 Rock" and "Ugly Betty."
