  1. Best Picture nominee: "Argo" -- Spoiler alert! Here's a synopsis, courtesy of imdb.com and Wikipedia, in case you don't see the movie. But beware, we give away the ending!

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  2. When militants seize control of the U.S. embassy in Tehran during the height of the Iranian Revolution, CIA agent Tony Mendez (Ben Affleck) creates a fake Hollywood film production in order to rescue a group of American diplomats.

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  3. Mendez offers a unique solution: posing as a Canadian film producer, he will enter into Tehran to scout locations for a science fiction opus, gather up the refugees, pass them off as his crew and fly out of Iran right under the militants' noses.

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  4. Mendez infiltrates the country and meets up with the Canadian ambassador (Victor Garber) and the hostages who have taken refuge at his home.

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  5. The hostages are initially skeptical of his plan, but they eventually realize that along with their lives, Mendez is also risking his to get them out of the country.

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  6. At the last minute, Mendez is told that the operation has been cancelled, but he pushes forward, forcing his supervisor (Bryan Cranston) to hastily re-obtain authorization for the mission to get tickets on a Swissair flight.

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  7. Tension rises at the airport, where the escapees' flight reservations are confirmed at the last minute, and a guard's call to the supposed studio in Hollywood is answered at the last second.

    Warner Bros. Ent.

  8. The group boards the plane just as the Iranian guards uncover the ruse and try to stop their plane from getting off the runway.

    Warner Bros. Ent.
