Finding heroin needles in the pocket of your spouse's favorite jeans signals that something is amiss. Heroin, however, isn't the only addiction that can ruin a marriage.

Those addicted to alcohol, drugs, or pornography become enslaved and will do anything to satisfy their desires, even if it means ruining their marriage.

Showing up drunk at your daughter's baptism, smoking weed behind the dumpster at work, or checking out naked people on library computers provide ample evidence that a spouse needs to change.

Addictions, however, don't always take the form of deviant behavior. Seemingly innocent activities-fantasy football, working too much, juggling, or constructing shrines to "American Idol" contestants can also turn into addictions.

If the addiction has supplanted you as the most important thing to your spouse, it may be a sign that a divorce is imminent.
