Country legend RANDY TRAVIS made his first public appearance since suffering a stroke last July (13) and he appears to be on the mend after his harrowing ordeal.
The 54-year-old singer was admitted to a hospital for idiopathic cardiomyopathy and was put on life support for 48 hours.
During that time, Travis suffered a stroke and had to undergo emergency neurosurgery, but he soon was transferred to a physical therapy facility to focus on restoring functions such as walking and talking.
Nearly six months after the medical scare, Travis was in good spirits as he attended a charity concert on Friday (07Feb14) in Dallas, Texas.
Fellow country singer Neal McCoy took to Facebook.com to post a photo of himself with Travis, who is shown grinning from ear to ear while posing with his pal.
McCoy writes, "Randy Travis and I recently backstage before I went on, at a Smiles For Life concert in Dallas Texas. Pretty honored this was Randy's first time out and his first time to have Cowboy boots on since his illness. Gettin Better!!!"
