Family Rejects Winning EBay Bid For 'Frank Must Die' Sticker

GoldenPalace.com Bids $10,700 To Benefit Young Cancer Patient

POSTED: 10:30 am PST January 13, 2005

The mother of a young cancer patient said the family is rejecting the winning bid on an eBay auction designed to help raise funds for the young boy in order to get the surgery he needs.

Tiffini Dingman-Grover said she got the idea to use eBay to raise money to help her son, David, when the online casino GoldenPalace.com bid tens of thousands of dollars for some items. She thought someone might do the same to help her son fight a brain tumor.

The winner of the online auction turned out to be GoldenPalace.com, which bid $10,700 for a bumper sticker that reads "Frank Must Die." "Frank" is the name David gave to his tumor.

David's family has decided not to accept the winning bid, saying they don't feel comfortable taking money from the gambling Web site.

The family thanked GoldenPalace.com and said the Web site will still get a "Frank Must Die" bumper sticker.
