A physical education teacher in Delano is taking exercise to a whole new level with help from video games.

Students who walk into Ken Dyar's P.E. class are there to have fun.

In 2008, the class won first prize for the Governor's Fitness Challenge and this year they were able to buy all new exercise equipment with a fun twist.

The gym has lights, sounds and a whole lot of fat burning action.

Dyar said the students are burning calories and don't even know it.

Dyar wanted to find a better way to get kids excited about working out, so when students at Cecil Avenue Middle School won the Governors Fitness Challenge, they welcomed their reward.

The new gym has video bikes, where If they want to win the race, they have to pedal faster.

For those that enjoy martial arts, the gym has an area for that as well.

The Corner Stone is worth more than $30,000, has more than 10 games and eight activities, but they're all guaranteed to make you sweat.

Dyar said in addition to fun and games, students also learn about nutrition, calories, heart rate, and energy.

Dyar said it's even more important that students take these values and apply them at home to make them a part of their lifestyle.
