Debbie's Deals: Veterans Day offers, freebies and deals 2012

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Veterans Day is Sunday, Nov. 11 and several businesses are offering freebies and deals for veterans and military members.

HOWEVER, MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE DATE. Some offers are on Sunday, some Monday and some are on Tuesday.

The first deal is for everyone, not just veterans. Everyone gets free admission to our National Parks on Veterans Day weekend -- Nov. 10 to 12.

*Note, U.S. military members and their dependents in the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard, as well as most members of the US Reserves and National Guard get a free national parks pass. Read more here .

Veterans and active duty military members eat free from a limited menu at Applebee's on SUNDAY, Nov. 11. You must show proof of military service. Beverages and gratuity not included. Thank you Mary and Linda for this tip.

Golden Corral is offering a free dinner to any person who has served in the U.S. military on MONDAY, Nov. 12 from 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. No ID required. Dine-in only.

Olive Garden is offering veterans and active duty military a free entree from a limited menu on SUNDAY, Nov. 11. Must show proof of military service.

Outback Steakhouse is offering veterans and active duty military members a free Bloomin' Onion and beverage on SUNDAY AND MONDAY (Nov 11 and 12).

Texas Roadhouse is offering lunch from a special menu to active and former military members on MONDAY, Nov 12 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Bring military ID. Thanks to Randy for this tip.

California Pizza Kitchen is offering veterans and active duty military a free pizza and beverage on SUNDAY and MONDAY (Nov 11 and 12). Dine-in only. Must show proof of service.

Veterans get free lunch at T.G.I. Friday's on MONDAY, Nov. 12 from 11a.m. to 2 p.m. Military ID required. Thanks to Susan for this tip.

Village Inn is giving veterans and active duty military a free slice of pie or stack of buttermilk biscuits on SUNDAY, Nov. 11. No coupon or purchase required, but military ID is required.

Hooters is giving veterans and active duty military 10 free wings on SUNDAY, Nov. 11. Military ID or proof of service required. Call ahead and make sure your location is participating.

Krispy Kreme is giving veterans and active duty military a free doughnut and small coffee on SUNDAY, Nov. 11. No purchase or coupon necessary. You will need proof of service or wear your uniform.

AARP Driver Safety is allowing veterans, active duty and retired military service members to take any driver's safety classroom course for free from Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. (Online classes are 50 percent off.)

In the past, Chili's, CB & Potts and others have offered deals on Veteran's Day. We are still waiting for their official announcements.

Subway is not giving away free sandwiches this year. Instead, it's donated $111,112 to the Wounded Warrior Project.
