The CDC released its latest update on the flu outbreak on Friday.
In its latest advisory, the centers for disease control and prevention said 47 states are now reporting widespread flu activity.
That's up from 41 states in the last advisory.
Experts said it will be weeks before they know it flu season has peaked, but there still may be some good news on the horizon. The latest CDC activity map lists several states that have seen a drop in flu levels, particularly in southeastern states like Georgia, Florida, and South Carolina.
And only 24 states were reporting high levels of flu activity, down from 29 states the previous week.
