Researchers said the number of young women being diagnosed with advanced breast cancer is on the rise.

A study in the Journal of American Medical Association found that young women, ages 25 to 39, are being diagnosed with advanced breast cancer and the growing trend is not being seend in older women.

The study covered three decades, but officials siad more research needs to be done.

Doctors said early detection is key so it's best for young women to do a monthly self breast exam and get checked out right away if they find a lump.
