BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Not having health insurance can make it hard for some people to be screened for cancer, but a local health center is looking to change that this weekend.

The Comprehensive Blood and Cancer Center is taking appointments for free screenings on Sunday.

The event is being held at the McFarland community building and is offered for those without health insurance.

They will be checking for breast, prostate and colon cancer from noon to 5 p.m.

If you're interested in attending you must call to make an appointment at 792-6090.
