BAKERSFEILD, Calif. - As grapes are currently being harvested throughout the nation, TripAdvisor --the world's largest travel site-- announced the top wine destinations in the United States on Wednesday.

Thirty-two spots across the world were honored, based on millions of valuable traveler reviews and opinions.

Award winners were determined based on their popularity as wine destinations, taking into account travelers' reviews and opinions for local wineries, restaurants, attractions and accommodations.

The state of California held half of the top ten spots. Sonoma County and Napa Valley held the top two spots, respectively. With Paso Robles, Temecula Valley, and Plymouth rounding out the sixth, seventh, and tenth spots.

The remaining spots of the top ten are Willamette Valley in Oregon, Finger Lakes in New York, Long Island in New York, Walla Walla in Washington, and Palisade in Colorado.
