POSTED: 11:39 am PST November 20, 2009

(Sports Network) - The Chicago Cubs on Friday agreed to a two- year deal with left-handed reliever John Grabow worth $7.5 million.

After being acquired last season from Pittsburgh, Grabow posted a 3.24 earned run average in 30 appearances with Chicago. He set a career high with 75 games with both the Pirates and Cubs.

Grabow, who would have been one of the most sought-after lefty relievers had he hit the open market, had spent the first six-plus seasons of his big league career with the Pirates and is 20-15 lifetime with six saves and a 4.03 ERA in 420 games.
