Atlanta, GA -- (Sports Network) - The San Diego Padres placed pitcher Kevin Cameron on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to May 7, on Thursday.

Cameron, suffering from a first-degree right elbow sprain, has appeared in 10 games this season and posted a 3.60 earned run average. Over 10 innings, he has given up nine runs on 10 hits with six walks and five strikeouts.

To take his place on the roster, the Padres purchased the contract of pitcher Shawn Estes from Triple-A Portland. In six starts with Portland, he is 4-2 with a 3.67 ERA.
