CINCINNATI - In just four hours, Cincinnati Reds fans went from a scramble to buy tickets to a scramble to get refunds for tickets.
But that's how it works in baseball.
So if you're holding tickets to the League Championship Series or World Series at Great American Ballpark, you probably would like to see a refund as soon as possible.
The good news: Refunds are much easier now than they were 20 years ago, where you would have to return a physical ticket in most cases.
How to get a refund
- Season ticket holders will have the money credited to their season ticket account.
-If you purchased an individual ticket directly from the Reds or MLB, the money will be be refunded to your credit card, usually within 4 weeks.
-If you bought from a 3rd party, you need to contact the seller.
For StubHub buyers
If it's a third party ticket bought on StubHub, and is an electronic ticket, as most are on the site, the good news is that those aren't issued until 48 hours before game time.
So StubHub will reverse the charges on your credit card.
But if you bought a paper ticket, you need to get with the seller, and it's up to them whether they want to refund you what you paid over face value.
As always, don't waste your money.
