ABC23 is proud to announce that Camp Blue Jay will not be canceled, in fact, they are set to go until next year.

ABC23 first brought viewers a story Wednesday about a camp for disabled children that desperately needed to find volunteer nurses. If they didn't, Camp Blue Jay would be canceled.

But after ABC23 aired that story, camp officials were contacted by many volunteers.

In fact, they had such a tremendous response that the camp is covered for next year.

Camp Blue Jay has served kids with disabilities since the 1970s at Tehachapi Mountain Park.

Camp officials told ABC23 that if they didn't find volunteer nurses by Thursday, all camp sessions would be canceled.
