Fires Rage Near Wofford Heights
Fires Are Currently 50 Perecent Contained

WOFFORD HEIGHTS, Calif. -- Kern County firefighters are working to put out a series of small fire in the hills near Wofford Heights.The fires started just after 9 a.m. at several spots along Highway 155, near the main dam campsite.The fire is being called the Wofford Complex.
Kern County Fire Department has dispatched 7 Engines, 11 Patrols, 3 Hand crews, 2 Dozers and a Water Tender to this fire in addition to several management resources totaling approximately 100 personnel. Also on scene are resources from US Forest Service and B.L.M. At this time there is air support from 1 Air Tanker and Helicopter 408, both are involved with water drops.If anyone has any information on these fires please call our confidential fire information tip line on 1-877-347-3847Below is the information put out by the Kern County Sheriff’s Department using ReadyKernSEVERAL FIRES BURNING IN THE AREA OF JUNIPER HEIGHTS AND SHADOW MOUNTAIN COMMUNITIES.THIS IS AN ADVISORY ONLY FOR THE AREA - FIRES IN THE AREA OF OLD STATE AND SOUTH TO KEYSVILLE, MAINLY ON THE WEST SIDE OF THE HWY 155. BE COGNIZANT OF YOUR SURROUNDINGS. NO MANDATORY EVACUATIONS AT THIS TIME.ANYONE EXITING THE AREA TAKE HWY 155 NORTHBOUND THROUGH WOFFORD HEIGHTS TO KERNVILLE, TAKE SIERRA WAY TO HWY 178 AROUND THE BACK SIDE OF LAKE ISABELLA.
