6 Grassfires Ignite Near Bodfish

BODFISH, Calif. -- On Tuesday around 3:08 a.m., calls were received by Kern County Fire Department for six separate grassfires along Caliente-Bodfish Road and Bena Rd. All the fires have been contained except one fire that continues to burn named the Bear Fire.Approximately 60 Kern County Fire Fighters are assigned to the incident including 3 patrols, 1 engine, 3 hand crews, 2 water tenders due to limited water supply, and Helicopter 408.The fire has burned approximately 300 acres with no containment at this time.
No injuries or structure losses have been reported. The fire is under investigation, anyone with any information is encourage to call 1-800-FIRE–TIP (341-3841).
