Will Tehachapi Residents Get New Hospital?

POSTED: 11:13 am PST November 3, 2009

Tuesday is a big day for Tehachapi residents to vote on whether to have a new hospital in the area.

Measure A would allow the district to borrow an additional $50 million for the construction of a new hospital.

So far around $17 million is set aside, but about $67 million is needed to build the facility.

Officials told ABC23 that this would provide an adequate health care facility for residents of the greater Tehachapi area including Mojave and California City.

Some residents are concerned about the effects the tax increase will have on their properties.

Tehachapi residents have until 8 p.m. to vote in this special election.

Turn to ABC23news at 11 p.m. for the results.
