Sheriff: 5 Men Pretend To Be Deputies To Burglarize Home

WELDON, Calif. -- A man said that five men barged into his home declaring that they were the Kern Valley Sheriff's Department and burglarized his home.On Nov. 4 around 12:15 a.m., Kern Valley Deputies responded to 5277 Hooper Road in Weldon regarding a Home Invasion Robbery.Stanley Harrington reported approximately five males, White and Hispanic, forced entry into his residence at gun point, the Kern County Sheriff's Department reported.
Harrington said the men entered his residence and announced themselves as the sheriff’s office by saying, “This is the Kern Valley Sheriff Department! This is a raid," the KCSD reported.One of the men was wearing what appeared to be a uniform shirt with the Sheriff’s Office logo on it, Harrington told deputies.The other four men were wearing gloves, dark green ski masks, dark green sweatshirts, and camouflage pants, Harrington reported.Taken from the residence was approximately 8 pounds of processed marijuana, $800 cash and a black 32-inch LG flat screen TV worth $650.The men were last seen driving westbound on Bella Vista Drive toward Vista Grande in a brown SUV.The investigation is ongoing.
