Sheriff's Helicopter Assists In Arrest Near Lake Isabella

LAKE ISABELLA, Calif. -- The Kern County Sheriff's Department used their Air 1 unit to track down a person who ran away during a traffic stop.On Monday around 11 p.m., a deputy conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for one headlamp on Elizabeth Norris just south of SR 178. The vehicle pulled over and came to a stop.As the vehicle stopped two people climbed out of the vehicle and ran north from the vehicle, the Kern County Sheriff's Department said.
The deputy stayed with the vehicle and detained the 2 other occupants.Additional deputies and California Highway Patrol officers came to assist and began searching for the two people that fled, according to the KCSD.Air 1 assisted in the search and located one of the two people who ran.The second person that ran is still outstanding, according to the KCSD.The two people in the vehicle that did not run were arrested on charges of resisting or delaying a peace officer in the performance of their duties.They are identified as Rodney Liske, 51, and Chelsea Blair, 25.The man that was located in bushes, approximately 1/4 mile north of the stop was James Curtis, 26.Curtis has an outstanding warrant for drug charges.Curtis was arrested on charges of resisting or delaying a peace officer in the performance of their duties and possession of a controlled substance along with the warrant.
