Arson Unit Determined Fire Was Human Caused

POSTED: 10:11 am PDT July 29, 2010
UPDATED: 8:27 am PDT July 30, 2010

Thursday night, fire crews said the weather was optimal for ground resources to keep working within its perimeter.

Friday's weather will allow fire crews on the ground and in the air to continue to strengthen control lines on the West Incident.

Over 1, 000 firefighters are gaining ground against the fire after winds caused it to flare up Wednesday afternoon, but crews working overnight were able to gain ground against it.

Firefighters said about 30 to 40 structures have been destroyed, and Thursday morning more than 2,000 people were still kept from their homes because 150 homes are still threatened around the Old West Ranch Community where the fire started.
