Worst Oscar Speeches - The Show Off
Jack Palance, Best Supporting Actor for "City Slickers" (1991)
After accepting his Oscar from Whoopi Goldberg, the 71-year-old Palance greeted the crowd in Dorothy Chandler Pavilion with this quip about that year's Oscar host and his "City Slickers" co-star: "Billy Crystal? I crap bigger than him."
Then as he began talking about getting roles as an older actor, he surprised the audience by leaving the podium to perform four one-armed push ups.
If that wasn't enough, he returned to the podium with this: "That's nothing, really. As far as the two-handed push ups are concerned you can do that all night, and it doesn't even matter if she's there or not. And, besides it's a hell of a lot less expensive."
