Three Children Dead In Fort Tejon Car Accident
SUV Rolled Over Several Times On I-5
FORT TEJON -- Three young children were killed and five people injured in a one-vehicle car accident on the northbound lanes of Interstate 5 south of Fort Tejon Saturday morning, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Several people in the Ford Expedition, including the three children who died, were not properly restrained in the SUV and were ejected from the vehicle upon impact.
The driver was in the number 1 lane on northbound I-5 just before 11 a.m. when he skidded into other lanes and over an enbankment south of the Fort Tejon Road exit.
Two of the children died at the scene, while the third child died at Kern Medical Center.
A fourth child suffered severe head trauma, while three adults and a teenager suffered minor to moderate injuries. All are being treated at Kern Medical Center.
