BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Officials at the Taft Correctional Facility continue to search for a missing escapee.

According to police Jose Ubence, from the Los Angeles area, escaped at about 10:30 a.m. Thursday.

He was serving a one-and-a-half-year sentence for a drug conviction.
