BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- After months of talk, it is decision time: What street should be named after Merle Haggard?

The Board of Supervisors is expected to decide that Tuesday afternoon, after months of debate between residents and officials over where to pay homage to Haggard, who grew up in Oildale.

Officials will decide between re-naming Seventh Standard Road - between North Chester and Highway 99 - and all of Airport Drive.

The Board of Supervisors meeting will be held Tuesday afternooon at 2 o'clock at the County Administrative Center on Truxtun Avenue. The public is welcome to attend the meeting and give their say.
