Sheriff's deputies in Taft said they arrested a woman hiding methamphetamine in a crucifix in her home on Easter Street.

Deputies said they were investigating Janneice Lee Smith, 42, for selling methamphetamine.

During a search of her home, officials said they found 5 grams of meth, some hidden in a crucifix hanging on her bedroom wall, prescription medication and marijuana.

Deputies said criminals are getting more creative these days when it comes to hiding their drugs.

Officials said Smith was booked in the Taft City Jail on several drug charges.
