Beat Summer Heat With Cooling Centers

Cooling Centers To Open During Extreme Valley Temperatures

Cooling Centers in the San Joaquin and Kern River Valleys will open when temperatures are forecasted to reach 105 degrees or higher.

Centers in the mountain communities of Frazier Park and Tehachapi will open when temperatures are predicted to reach 95 degrees, and centers in the desert region will open when temperatures are forecast to reach 108 degrees or above.

Kern County Libraries will be open during normal operating hours.

Daily decisions to open the centers will be based on National Weather Service forecasts.

Operating hours: 1-8 p.m.
