According to the NASA Web site, www.nasa.gov, rainy weather conditions forced Kennedy Space Center flight controllers to pass on Shuttle Atlantis’ first landing attempt Friday.

Shuttle Atlantis smoothly landed at 12:49 p.m. at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.

Friday's landing brings to an end a successful construction mission to the international space station. Shuttle Atlantis launched June 8 and arrived at the station on June 10, installing truss segments and performing four spacewalks.
