Shuttle Atlantis Lands At Edwards Air Force Base
First Shuttle Landing Attempt Passes; Edwards Air Force Base Landing At 12:49 p.m.
According to the NASA Web site, www.nasa.gov, rainy weather conditions forced Kennedy Space Center flight controllers to pass on Shuttle Atlantis’ first landing attempt Friday.Shuttle Atlantis smoothly landed at 12:49 p.m. at Edwards Air Force Base, Calif.Friday's landing brings to an end a successful construction mission to the international space station. Shuttle Atlantis launched June 8 and arrived at the station on June 10, installing truss segments and performing four spacewalks.
