75-Year-Old Man With Shotgun Shot By California Highway Patrol In Hospital

According to the California highway patrol, a 75-year-old man was shot and killed by officer Brad Degeus of the California highway patrol at the Southern Sierra Medical Center in Ridgecrest.

Police said the man was shot after turning his shotgun at an officer inside the building.

Police say the elderly man fired several shots inside the building and hit one female employee with the stock of his gun.

The Ridgecrest police department contacted the CHP to assist in a building search.

Patients at the hospital were under lockdown for about an hour.

The incident is under investigation.
