ABC23 Investigation Leads To Three Arrests For Internet Prostitution

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. -- Two adult females and one adult male were arrested in relation to Internet prostitution on craigslist.com, according to the Bakersfield Police Department.Police officers said they discovered the postings after being alerted to them by ABC23.Detectives responded to an Internet ad posting on Bakersfield’s Craigslist that directed viewers to the Motel 6 on California Avenue.
The posting advertised “100 kisses half hour,” and “200 kisses one hour,” possibly indicating dollars or some other type of currency.An undercover office arrived at the location and said he was solicited.Arrested in the room were Deborah Irene Flynn, 31, and Shelley Marie Clem, 34, both of Bakersfield. Flynn was charged with prostitution and child endangerment. Clem was also arrested on a charge of prostitution. Both were released on citation.A 16-month-old juvenile in the room was taken into protective custody.Further information led to the arrest of Jose Elias Garcia for felony pimping and pandering.Garcia was booked into Kern County Jail.Internet prostitution is becoming more popular in Bakersfield, according to police, and internet posting is legal.
