Two Inmates Walk From Taft Prison Camp

TAFT, Calif. -- Prison officials at Taft Correctional Insitution announced Saturday that two inmates, serving time for drug related charges, walked away from the satellite camp after being discovered missing Saturday morning.Jesus Oregon-Cortez and Robert Solorio were discovered missing around 10:30am Saturday during a routine prisoner count.The camp is a minimum security facility and therefore does not have a fence around, as is typical with minimum security facilities.
Oregon-Cortez and Solorio are the third and fourth inmates to walkaway from the camp in the last two months.Oregon-Cortez is an hispanic male, 135 lbs., 5'7", with brown eyes and black hair. While born in Mexico, Cortez's home address is listed in Denver, Colorado though he was working as an auto mechanic in San Diego. He was serving 135 months with 5 years supervision for conspiracy to distribute and possess with the intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine, 50 grams or more of methamphetamine and 100 kilograms of marijuana.Solorio is an hispanic male, 180 lbs., 5'8", with brown eyes and black hair. Solorio was born in Mexico but had a Napa address while working as a chef in a Sacramento restaurant. Solorio was serving 120 months with 36 months supervision for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute cocaine; possession with intent to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine.Local law enforcement agencies have been notified. If Solorio or Oregon-Cortez are spotted you are urged to call police.
