Lucky Cat That Survived Burning Gets Justice

SHAFTER, Calif. -- A juvenile was arrested in connection with the cat burned on Sept. 11 in Shafter.The Shafter Police Department was alerted on an anonymous tip. After an investigation in which Shafter police reviewed witness reports, they made an arrest of a juvenile who later admitted to having burned the cat.The cat was found burned in Shafter on Sept. 11, and since then, got a second chance at life.

They’re now rehabilitating the animal until it can be put up for adoption.Shyanne Bozarth, Shafter City Animal Control Manager, said BFAS is the largest animal sanctuary in the U.S., specializing in rescuing and rehabilitating special needs animals."This is a very lucky cat that otherwise would likely have to be euthanized due to significant long-term care, healing and unsightly scarring," Bozarth said.
